Caring for Your Jewellery
To make sure that you get the most out of your jewellery, we have come up with the following tips to ensure your jewellery continues to sparkle and look like new!
- Remove your jewellery before doing housework. Chemical agents found in household cleaning products can permanently damage your jewellery.
- Do not bathe or shower whilst wearing your jewellery.
- Store your jewellery carefully to protect it from dust and light and from tangles and scratches. Our Pink Paisley luxury gift boxes are ideal.
- Do not apply make-up or perfume whilst wearing your jewellery.
- Do not wear your jewellery whilst undertaking any activity such as gardening or sport which may cause damage.
- Never go swimming whilst wearing jewellery. Chlorine used in swimming pools can cause serious permanent damage.
- Do not store pearls in plastic bags. Our luxury Pink Paisley gift boxes are ideal storage.
- Regularly inspect your jewellery for any stones which may be coming loose and get them repaired before the stones fall out.
- Fashion jewellery and costume jewellery are not intended for daily wear, but for occasional wear which will prolong the life of your jewellery. Having more than one piece of jewellery will allow you to rotate the days that you wear the same pieces of jewellery.
- Do not wear your jewellery to bed, especially necklaces!
- Try to get into the habit of wiping your jewellery with a damp soft cloth after each wear. This will remove any grease, dirt or other residue and significantly prolong its life.
- Silver jewellery needs regular cleaning as it can turn black and tarnish. This is not a reflection of poor quality, but simply a natural reaction to the atmosphere or body sweat.
- Most jewellery can be washed with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush. Ensure the jewellery is thoroughly dried with a soft cloth. Avoid using tissue paper or paper towels which may scratch.
